Auxiliary shunt:

(under subclass 1) Subject matter in which an arcing contact is arranged in parallel to the main contact assembly so that when opening the circuit the main contact opens first and the auxiliary contact later.

(1) Note. The shunt contact is made of highly resistant material.

(2) Note. Any arc is formed on the auxiliary contact.
