DEFINITION

Classification: 215/201

(under subclass 200) Device provided with means to (1) call the attention of the user to the dangerous character of the contents of the receptacle or (2) otherwise provide obstructive means to negate easy or what would appear normal removal of the closure.

(1) Note. This and the indented subclasses are intended to provide a loci for patents relating to closures designed in such a manner as to make it difficult, if not impossible, for uninformed children or mentally deficient persons to remove the closure. Most, if not all of the patents herein, deal with closures for receptacles containing potentially dangerous or toxic material.

(2) Note. "Tamperproof" closures which involve a breaking or tearing of the closure or a component thereof will be found in this class (215), subclasses 250+.

7+, for receptacles having means for indicating that the contents have been tampered with or for indicating the quantity of material in the receptacle;

206, for closures provided with combination actuated locks. 207, for closure fasteners provided with key actuated locks;
