(1) Note. The solids particles may be moved relative to each other within a fixed mass or bed or motion may be imparted to the whole bulk of solids making up the bed. This subclass includes the movement of solids during fluid contacting or either before or after fluid contact. The movement is other than in a fluid suspending medium or as a gravitating bed.
