This subclass contains, for example, those contacting processes wherein the liquid feed to the suspension system remains in the liquid state and the entire system is in liquid suspension or wherein the liquid feed is vaporized by the hot solids and the entire system is in the vapor phase or wherein there is a mixed vapor-liquid feed and the vapors are in equilibrium with the liquid in the vapor-liquid suspension. Many of the techniques classified here result in uniform wetting and contacting of the solids and prevent agglomerating or sticking of the particles due to the use of a heavy liquid feed.
