(1) Note. This subclass includes, for example, lamp sockets wherein upon removal of the lamp therefrom, a switch automatically opens the circuit of the socket contacts, thus preventing short-circuiting of the socket contacts by tools, foreign matter, etc., or preventing shock by accidental touching of the contacts.
