DEFINITION

(under subclass 525) Apparatus wherein the flow-affecting means comprises a device, mechanism, element, etc., to impart additional energy to the load for the purpose of assisting its movement through the system.

(1) Note. The device, etc., may be located within a section and in direct contact with the load therein (e.g., to prevent "bridging"), or it may act upon a section exteriorly thereof.
