DEFINITION
Classification: 198/418.5
Having plural successive groups discharged by single conveyor into larger group:
(under subclass 418) Apparatus in which a single conveyor section having one exit consecutively delivers several small groups to another conveyor section on which the articles of the groups are arranged or formed into a bigger common group.
(1) Note. It is not necessary for the number of articles in each group to be the same as the number of articles in a previous or succeeding group, but the variances should recur regularly. For example, in forming a staggered layer of bottles to be packaged, a row of seven bottles is formed, a row of six bottles is then formed, followed by another row of seven bottles.
