(under subclass 296) Method or apparatus wherein the nonwoven web is formed (a) by sequential deposition of layers of similar fibers in such a manner that a line of demarcation is presented between the deposited layers; (b) by deposition of diverse fibers in such a manner as to form distinguishable layers; or (c) by superimposition of a plurality of preformed web.
(1) Note. Nonwoven web formation by a plurality of adjacent, oppositely disposed condensers supplied from a single supply source wherein the fibers collected thereon are combined or merged into a single, coherent web at the nip there-between, as double condenser cylinder machines, for example, is excluded from this subclass. However, combining of nonwoven unitary webs emerging from the nips of a plurality of such multiple condensers is provided for herein.
