(under subclass 343) Subject matter wherein the impact softening means includes structure which contacts or compresses a gas or liquid medium and utilized the retarding force caused by this contact or compression to slow down the load-underlying support surface coacting therewith.
(1) Note. This subclass includes patents in which the load-underlying support surface is designed to act as a piston within a cylinder of a fluid shock absorber when entering a modified portion of the shaft.
