DEFINITION

Classification: 175/351

(under subclass 350) Apparatus in which the rolling cutter element comprises a cutting wheel having a smooth, unbroken, sharpened, cutting edge at its periphery.

(1) Note. This subclass includes plural disk cutters mounted on different axes offset from each other as well as from the drill head axis.

(2) Note. Bits employing only offset, serrated disks having a stepped or undulating edge have been treated as having a toothed cutting edge and are classified in subclass 350.
