(under the class definition) Apparatus combined with means for (1) exhausting or partially exhausting air or other gas from the work material, (2) directly applying a vacuum or suction to work material either in a melting furnace, material receptacle, or before, during or after charging of the work material into a shaping member, or (3) applying vacuum or suction to the apparatus or portions thereof for positioning, retaining or aligning of parts.

(1) Note. The application of the vacuum or suction may perform a dual function, e.g., exhaust air or other gases from the mold or work material and also effect movement of

the work material.
