(under subclass 100) Processes and products characterized by
a difference in some property of the fibers between two portions of the interior or between a portion of the interior and a portion of the surface.
(1) Note. The product must have been by a single waterlaying operation. The nonuniform internal structure may be produced during waterlaying or by a subsequent operation.
(2) Note. The most frequent types of nonuniformity encountered are differences in fiber orientation, fiber size, density, and amount of additive associated with the fibers at different portions of the thickness of the product.
