(under subclass 221) Hinge wherein all or a portion of a hinged member* moves upwardly along a substantially vertical hinge axis* as it is swung about said axis in one direction, wherein the resulting potential energy is utilized to swing said hinged member in the opposite direction about the hinge axis to thereby return the hinged member to its original position.
