DEFINITION

Classification: 141/187

(under subclass 183) Apparatus in which the contents handling means operates by engaging the sides of a moving column of material frictionally or by entering partially into the moving column of material to advance it in the direction of the supply outlets.

(1) Note. The means must not be continuous so as to comprise a cut-off or separating element between successive charges. If separation of charges occurs it must be at least partly a breaking away of the column of material.
