DEFINITION

Classification: 137/593

(under subclass 561) Systems comprising an expansion chamber or a vertically extending pipe or tank adapted to be placed in open communication with a source of liquid and functioning as a storage or pressure-maintaining reservoir or to increase the head against which liquid from the source must exert pressure.

(1) Note. This subclass includes patents for extensions attached to the vertical outlets of irrigation pipelines whereby a greater head of water to be discharged may be maintained without overflow, and risers to be attached to basement drains whereby the overflow level of water backing into the drain may be raised.
