(under subclass 280) Device further comprising either (a) a third thin rod or pick-like portion connected to the first and second, or (b) an individually distinct part adapted to hold the device in the hair, or (c) a movable element or portion adapted to move the prongs apart or to hold them apart.

(1) Note. Mere bends or offset portions on the prong are not considered to be "discrete retainers". On the other hand, a hook-like member protruding from a prong to prevent the hairpin from dislodging is considered to be a "discrete retainer".
