Steering mechanism in which fluid-pressure is used to control the rudder, tiller, or steering wheel, etc., or to react upon the water through which the vessel moves. It includes all pneumatic, steam, and hydraulic means specific to ships and their structure and not so claimed as to be of general application in steam steering.
