Ballasting devices in which lee or weather boards or fins, plated, blades, etc., are adapted to project from the vessel's sides or keel laterally, obliquely, or horizontally to form a resistance-surface to prevent careening or capsizing and to enable a vessel to point or sail closer to the wind and prevent making leeway.
