(under the class definition) Process or apparatus for directing liquid, gas, or vapor into contact with or beneath the top surface of the soil.

Included herein are patents claiming a means to spray a liquid onto the surface of the soil and means to scratch or disturb the soil where the spraying and soil disturbance, as disclosed, are applied to the same area of the soil to facilitate penetration of the liquid into the soil.
